Max &

Animal Trainers

| Max
Peterson's love of reptiles and other animals has been an integral part of
his life ever since he can remember. He has devoted most of his life to
the study, care, and handling of them. Growing up in the Santa Monica
Mountains of Southern California, he spent the majority of his free time
looking for snakes and lizards, collecting them and learning about their
care and habits. Max has kept snakes as pets for over thirty-two years,
and has bred many rare species and color mutations. Max
graduated California State University at Northridge with a Bachelor's
degree in Liberal Arts, and taught elementary school where he brought
animals into the classroom for enrichment programs. After
meeting his wife and partner, Laurel Ligon, while snake collecting in west
Texas, he moved to the Dallas area and has worked at several animal
related jobs, including a reptile keeper position at the Dallas Zoo.
He has worked in the film and movie industry
for over fifteen years, supplying them with a wide variety of reptiles and
other animals. Max has worked
with Doug Terranova on many occasions over the last ten years supplying
and handling animals for television, movies, video, studio photography,
the opera, and the circus. His wife, Laurel, assists and when Max is
unavailable, handles the animals on location. They currently have a
twenty-six acre ranch outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, and
house a collection of several hundred snakes, lizards, tortoises,
crocodiles, and a variety of other animals including rats and mice,
scorpions and tarantulas, as well as the more usual dog, cats, and horses. |
