Valerie Fare
Dog Trainer

Val has always loved animals. At the age of 13 she saw her first Weimaraner and knew that was what she had to have. In 1973, after finishing college, she purchased her first one which resulted in total disaster. The puppy was the result of two siblings being bred together and the lesson Val learned at that time has carried over to her breeding program today. Her second Weimaraner was purchased as an adult and became the cornerstone of her breeding bloodlines. In 1974 she began taking obedience classes which began a lifelong career that she still loves today. Given her family background in the military it was a natural fit with the discipline and precision involved. She has put multiple obedience titles AND Breed Championships on EVERY dog she has owned. At last count she has put over 25 obedience titles on her Weimaraners and has bred over 30 Champion show dogs. Val has taught obedience classes for over 15 years instructing all levels from beginner to utility. This has proved invaluable to her as it taught her how many different approaches there are to problem solving and that no one method works for every dog. Val became involved in the canine talent industry in 1985 and, with generation after generation of her dogs, she has continued to do movies, commercials, and magazine lay-outs. She met Doug Terranova in 1991 on the set of the feature film " MY BOYFRIEND'S BACK " and their professional relationship has grown to include not only working her own animals on set but also other breeds and even species. Many local producers are glad to know that, when Doug is on other jobs, Val can capably take over on set.
